A client approached us to put a Lepton on a DJI Phantom Quadcopter. We were game because that meant that we got to play with the Phantom for awhile. The goal was to get analog video out of Lepton so it could be plugged into an existing RF transmitter. The client wanted to be able to get daylight and thermal video in addition to being able to control tilt and rotation of both cameras.
After putting it harmlessly into a tree (only once) we finally got down to business and made this open-source 3D-printable mount that puts the Flytron DroneThermal board and Lepton right on a GoPro gimbal.
