Can power savings be realized with Boson by turning off frame averaging? Are there other power saving options?

Turning off the frame averager (i.e., reducing the frame rate from 60 or 50 fps to 30 or 25 fps) should result in a noticeable power savings -- up to 100mW.

Future Boson releases will enable the user to tap the video before automatic gain correction (AGC) is applied (as one example) and gain the power savings of processing without AGC.

Currently, many features are not fully disabled when de-selected, so their state has no noticeable effect on power consumption. Boson software release 2 will require slightly less power than the initial version.
