This group buy is for a Hamamatsu C12666MA Micro-spectrometer. Its spectral response lies mostly in the visible range, 340 to 780 nm, with 15 nm of resolution. Its fingertip size of 20.1 × 12.5 × 10.1 mm and light weight of 5g make it very interesting to integrate into small embedded systems with a need to detect color.

    What happens if this round does not reach minimum quantity?
    Are the backers transferred to the next round or is the round extended?

    We are going to extend it shortly. Our breakout board for it is done but our chief engineer in on vacation so once he is back he will do final testing and we'll add it as an optional accessory to this round. We hope that that will help close it.

    justin, I looked at your breakout board, and wasn't sure what's all on it. Could you please clarify? Is it limited to the square PCB board with 4 holes, which wires Arduino-compatible pinout to C12666MA circuit? Any electronic components on it?

    The board with the 4 holes is a prototype, and has no components but just passes signals through to an arduino. This works on 5V systems . A new board has been made that has a regulator, i/o buffering, op-amp, laser diode, white led. this will work on 3.3V to 5V systems.
