If you are looking to add electronic color detection in a small footprint to your projects, this component is definitely worth a prototype. It's also over $50 cheaper than buying in single quantities. Due to long factory lead times for the part, we are doing batches of 10 with limited timeframes. As soon as we get 10 orders they will go directly to Hamamatsu and a new batch will open.

This Breakout board is custom made for the C12666MA Micro-Spectrometer; It provides the socket, power supply, and level shifting for the C12666MA sensor. This Board is designed to plug directly into any Arduino compatible headers and is compatible with both 3.3V and 5.0V systems.
This is a group buy campaign that needs to acquire at least the stated minimum amount of pledges from backers like you before the Unit Deliverable and any Add-Ons ship. We do not charge anyone until the Progress above hits 100% or greater, otherwise there is no charge. I have just created the GroupGet for Hamamatsu C12666MA MEMS u-Spectrometer (Round 10)!
Will there at some point be a GroupGet for new Hamamatsu C12880MA micro spectrometer ( http://www.hamamatsu.com/jp/en/C12880MA.html )? I had a C12666MA from GroupGet and it is brilliant. Now would be good to try the C12880MA as well.
Absolutely. Our eval sample arrives in March. We already have a board ready to plug it into.
As long as it performs as good or better than C12666MA we will launch a GroupGet.
I'm also interested in the C12880MA sensor! Could you estimate the price of it? (e.g. similar to C12666MA, or double, or?)
The price should be similar to the '880, maybe a little more. We have still not received our sample yet but expect it in March.
